Pastor Ed and Diane Reynolds, driven by a deep sense of compassion, have dedicated themselves to serving the homeless population in Houston. Since 2013, they have been actively involved in outreach efforts, providing meals and essential support to hundreds of individuals. Recognizing the systemic nature of homelessness, they founded Matthew’s Light in 2021, a non-profit organization focused on addressing the root causes of this complex issue.
Pastor Ed recently shared his insights on the homelessness crisis in Houston during an episode of "Let's Talk on Houston City Beat." He highlighted the significant impact of rising housing costs and stagnant wages, which have disproportionately affected vulnerable populations.
Inspired by his visit to Austin's Community First Village, a successful model for community-based support for the homeless, Pastor Ed and Diane have developed a visionary plan: Cana Village.
Cana Village aims to create a supportive community environment that addresses the multifaceted needs of individuals experiencing homelessness. This innovative approach integrates successful elements from various programs, offering a comprehensive solution that includes housing, mental health support, job training, and life skills development.
