State Representative Penny Morales Shaw, a dedicated advocate for working families and children's health, has focused her two-decade legal career on improving community wellbeing. Now representing her hometown of Houston in the Texas Legislature, she serves on various committees, including the House Environmental Regulation and Urban Affairs Committees.

In a recent discussion, Mike Acosta and Representative Shaw highlighted the importance of engaging with the community through door-to-door efforts, addressing issues directly with citizens across party lines. A native Houstonian and long-time resident of District 148, Shaw has championed human rights, women's healthcare, and environmental protections.

Despite personal challenges, including being widowed shortly after law school, she raised four college-educated children while managing a multi-state law practice. Shaw's commitment to progressive policies aims to ensure all Texas families have access to quality education and affordable healthcare. Before her legislative role, she served as Deputy Chief for Harris County Commissioner, Precinct 2, overseeing policy and legislative affairs. She looks forward to applying her extensive legal and governmental experience to benefit the residents of House District 148. For more information, visit her website at voteforpenny.com.
