Justina's journey began on a fateful day in 1999 when a devastating fire broke out in her Houston home. Tragically, one of her 21 month old twins, Amos, lost his life in the fire. The experience was both physically and emotionally traumatizing, leaving Justina with deep scars that would forever remind her of that tragic day.


Instead of succumbing to despair, Justina channeled her pain into a life-changing mission. In 2001, she founded The Amos House of Faith, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing emotional support, to burn survivors and their families. Through her initiative, Justina aims to empower burn survivors by offering a network of compassionate care where they can find solace, strength, and hope.


Justina brings her personal experiences and deep understanding of the trauma faced by burn patients to her role as the author of the book "The Circle of Fire." Through her own journey and that of her children, Justina has traversed all the stages of trauma typically encountered by burn patients. This firsthand knowledge uniquely qualifies her to compassionately address the challenges and issues these individuals face.
