About Chris

Chris Christley, a graduate of the Dan Patrick School of Broadcasting, joins Houston City Beat as an Assignment Reporter. Raised in Magnolia, TX, Chris was adopted into a loving family and developed a deep passion for sports. While he faced self-doubt and setbacks, including not graduating high school on time, Chris persevered. He earned his GED in 2021 and later graduated from Full Sail University.

"I was my biggest enemy," Chris admits. "I had to learn the hard way that life isn't about being handed opportunities, but about overcoming your own limitations." This experience fuels his desire to support young athletes who may not have the traditional path to stardom. Chris believes in celebrating all achievements, no matter the level, and giving a voice to athletes and their families in smaller communities. He aims to bring a fun and engaging approach to sports broadcasting, connecting with the Houston City Beat audience on a personal level.

At Houston City Beat, Chris will cover a range of stories related to the Greater Houston area, with a particular focus on local sports.
